Projects Overview
The Oregon Trail Recreation District preserves the Burley, Idaho area livability by providing direction and funds to enhance and expand our community parks, trails and recreation programs and to provide access and opportunity for all.
The Oregon Trail Recreation District strives to provide quality recreation services and well maintained facilities that are well managed, sustainable, provide excellent customer service and meet the needs of Recreation District residents.
Current Projects
- New public restrooms at the Freedom Park Baseball/Fishing Pond in Burley.
- New City Tennis Courts.
Past Projects
- Oregon Trail Recreation Center on Park Ave in Burley. Follow the link to our Recreation Center Usage Policies and Forms for more information or to get started using the center.
- Snake Riverfront Greenbelt path west of the Overland Bridge to eventually run from the Burley Golf Course area to Bedke Boulevard Park.
- Improvements to the city tennis courts.
- Youth Girls Volleyball in 2012 (fall).
- Provided new baseball field cinders on the infields at the complex.
- Provided the Little League Baseball Program (replacing BABA).
- Funding the repair and updating of the Municipal Tennis courts in Burley.
- Supported the updating and restoration of the Burley Municipal Swimming Pool.
- Funded and constructed the restroom at Storybook Park.
- Funded and constructed the first phase of the Snake Riverfront Greenbelt path along the Burley Golf Course.
- Assisted the Waterways Committee in providing new boat docks at various locations.
- Funded and assisted with construction of the second phase of the Snake Riverfront Greenbelt path west of the Overland Bridge.
- Funding the repair and updating of the Municipal Tennis courts in Burley.
- Assisted with the construction of the restroom at Riverfront Park/Marina.
- Assisted the Waterways Committee in providing the Cassia Sheriff with a boat to insure public safety on the Snake River.
- Provided for the Youth Flag Football Program in Burley.
- Provided the Youth Basketball Program for boys and girls K through 4th grade.
